The Restored Dynamic Flexibility Program
Two decades ago, I wanted to create a video that explained what I had spent years studying—human movement.
In my studies with mentor Aaron Mattes, his modality of Active Isolated Stretching resonated.
Yet, the videos I had seen did not explain, in simple terms, how to apply active stretching into a cohesive program that benefited athletes and everyday people.
My concept was simple—use simple angles, good animation, and a pause-and-study approach instead of a follow along video.
While my background was not in film, I produced—and created the animations and art—for the entire video, which originally appeared as a DVD in retail stores.
Some critics lambasted me about the video—you could not “follow along” or there were not enough angles—but my concept stuck. If you paused and practiced the techniques, your body changed, and injuries went away or improved.
